I first became interested in working with children as a teenager due to a range of rewarding opportunities. At fifteen I started taking on supportive roles in organizing youth arts workshops and volunteered in a special needs school and centers for learning in my spare time. My love for working with children evolved upon completion of my postgraduate studies in Primary Education and training within the EYFS where I worked with children from the ages of 3-11 for 7 years. This range of experiences working with children allowed me to understand how to nurture and support early childhood development as well as provide learning through varied and inspiring experiences.
While my subject specialism by training is English; I have capable skills and knowledge in Drama, French and Religious Education where I have led themed days, devised workshops and curated children's work for exhibitions. Over the last 5 years of my teaching career, I also led Art as a subject specialism and I am confident that I can provide experiences to inspire children to express themselves freely and explore different artistic mediums in a fun and enriching way!
I am a good humoured and enthusiastic individual who would be keen to support families with the business of family life with a calm yet vibrant approach to care and play. I pride myself on my punctuality and good organizational skills, creativity and depth of empathy. I look forward to working with families within Bristol, bringing with me a positive and resilient attitude, as well as the ability to show genuine warmth and care to the needs of all children, parents and carers.
