I am offering tutoring for year 12 and 13 students either with a focus on exam technique and upcoming mocks/A levels, or more general and long term building of mathematical confidence and ability. Sessions in the former case would be weekly for a shorter period of time in the run up to the exam, and in the latter case would be fortnightly. I am flexible with switching between weekly and fortnightly tutoring, as well as when the sessions are scheduled, although each student will have a regular time slot each fortnight. I tutor online over skype (which does not require an account to use). Each session is planned based on what the student has told me they want to go over in the week beforehand, but I can easily change plans on the fly if something has recently come up that the student would prefer to focus on instead. In a typical session we would go over the key elements of the topic and discuss some common problems and pitfalls, before working through a range of exam questions for the rest of the session, focusing on ones the student finds particularly challenging.
I have tutored for 2 years and recently went through the A level process myself, so can provide relevant and realistic advice and explain concepts clearly in a variety of ways. I achieved 11 9s at GCSE and 4 A*s at A level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry (with 99% and 96% in my Maths and Further Maths respectively). I am patient and friendly and have a genuine love for teaching Maths (I know how scary one on one sessions can be!). I am most well versed with the Edexcel exam board (which is what I did at A level) but I offer support and tutoring for all exam boards.
