I was born in France to a French Mother and an English Father. I studied at The British School of Paris where I achieved my GCSE's and my A-levels. These included French and Spanish.
I moved to the UK and after a few years, studied for my TEFL Certification and an intensive grammar awareness course alongside it. Once I achieved this certification I was able to move to Lanzarote where I taught EFL to Spanish children as young as 6 through to adults. They all worked towards their Cambridge ESOL Examinations. These exams would provide them with more job opportunities and further knowledge of the English language.
I was also a Cambridge ESOL Speaking Examiner and Invigilator. Having these roles allowed me a deeper understanding of what was required from a speaking, listening and reading point of view. I was able to learn more about the vocabulary and grammar which would help the students achieve their goals.
I moved back to the UK when my son turned 5. I enjoy helping him with his Spanish homework and pronunciation which has reminded me how much I have a passion for languages and teaching. I am now able to offer English as a Foreign Language teaching, as well as helping with French and Spanish lessons. There is no better feeling than seeing the smile on a child's face (or an adult's for that matter) when they finally understand a new word, anew grammar point or can hold a conversation! Those are the moments I work towards!
