Ben Rathnam

Hey, my name is Benul and I’m a Biochemistry student with 3 years of experience in tutoring children from 4-17, both privately and at a tuition company. I have experience teaching primary education to GCSEs and have also taught 11+ preparation courses.

I love to teach interactively, when I was tutored myself I hated just being lectured and wished there were other ways to learn so I like to teach my students in a way which involves conversation and the student having an input in lessons too. We will find out what type of learner you are and use different things like interactive programs for sciences or model answers for English.

In our lessons, we will start by making a plan of what we want to achieve - for example, achieving a certain grade or moving up a set in a subject at school - and we will work towards that with frequent checkpoints, I will also help you learn to revise effectively and use proper exam techniques so that you’re confident in your work both in and out of lessons. If you would like, I can also provide homework and guidance on good recourses for exam prep and use our sessions for mock exams.
