Hi everyone, my name is Ben and I am a 30 something American French tutor living in London. I moved here in early 2023 after living in Paris for the past 2 years with my wife. We both are francophiles who enjoy volleyball, a good brasserie and the Parisian pace of life.

I started learning French in Togo, where I served a small Muslim village as a community development agent from I worked at a middle school as a teacher there but really enjoyed doing projects. Some of my favorites included establishing a garden for the school, holding a school spelling bee, creating a library, and holding gender equity seminars. By the end of my time in West Africa, I had gained a great appreciation for what it was like to live in the developing world vs. the western world.

Whilst teaching French, I mostly have experience with students new to the language who are eager to learn. I use digital aids (presentations, videos, etc) to start out, catering to both auditory and visual learners. Once there is a good basis, I enjoy more creative conversational lessons. (Let’s make a meal together in French. Let’s do some Karaoke together in French.) Start simple, grow your personality into the culture as well as the language. Depending on your motivation, we can go fast or slow, intensive or less intensive. This is a judgment free zone where mistakes and humor are welcome! No pressure.
