Introduction:
Hiya! My name is Benjamin and I am a fresh graduate who took History at Emmanuel College in Cambridge. I am a keen lover of all things history related and have a particular passion for medieval history. I love playing Touch Rugby and the Saxophone in my spare time, and enjoy reading further around my subject. I studied at St Albans School for Boys, and took a wide array of subjects for GCSE including triple science, maths, English literature and language, French, history, German and Ancient Greek. There, I scored nine 9 grades and one 6 grade (in English language). For A Level, I studied economics, history, politics and French achieving two A* and two A grades. This wide base of topics has equipped me with a diverse skill set to bring to any tutee session, allowing the most to be made of the time available to us!

I am keen to take on students at the moment, and can offer a wide range of teaching especially Oxbridge Admissions preparation as well as University Level history so please shoot me a message.

Teaching Style:
My teaching style is overall focused on discussion and overview of content with the student, with particular room for focus on exam techniques. The sessions will be orientated around student priorities, honing particular areas that for whatever reason the student feels weaker in.

The student can bring problems and issues to me, perhaps over content or perhaps over exam techniques. In the session, we will home in on any issues and ensure that by the end the student feels more comfortable in their approach. This will be supplemented by homework which will focus upon the embedding of knowledge via perhaps a research task, or an exam essay question.

I have particularly strong experience with the Oxbridge admissions process, having applied and been successful to read history at Cambridge. I am thus very well placed to provide insights into the admissions process, having sat the HAT myself, and also insights into the interview process to ensure that the student is able to give the best account of themselves as possible. This experience also allows me to offer a strong idea of the potential interview questions that interviewers could ask, with a view to ensuring that the student is as well prepared as possible for their interview.

Proudest Achievements:
My proudest achievements include my saxophone and piano grade 8 distinctions. I also enjoy playing Touch Rugby in my spare time.

Past Experience:
I have tutored for approaching two years, and have helped pupils move from D grades up to A grades. I have found this to be an exciting and rewarding process.
I have helped tutor my siblings in the past, assisting them whenever they have questions. This I have found to be a steadfast and rewarding process, which has led me to want to further and continue my tutoring journey and help others
