Hi, I'm Ben. I worked in the public sector for 28 years and I'm now branching out into tutoring to offer me more flexibility, and I have found that I really enjoy it!
I have worked as a training manager and taught as an associate lecturer at HE level. I hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and a Level 3 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
Most of my tutoring experience has been one-to-one and group TEFL teaching whilst living abroad, but deep down I really love Maths and Physics and I have tutored both up to GCSE level.
I have a genuine passion for what I teach, and I love learning myself. I always look for new ways to make things more interesting and relevant to the real world. Particularly with Physics, this means throwing, dropping, weighing, and comparing things. I understand that people have different learning styles, interests and abilities and I try to adapt my teaching to match you wherever possible.
If a slightly unorthodox approach to teaching by a tutor with plenty of real-life experience backed by a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and a master’s degree in International Criminal Justice Studies is something you would be interested in, please get in touch
