I have a bachelor's degree in theatre from the University of Chichester achieving a 2:1 grade. I have been accepted to UCL to study a PGCE in drama and English in September 2023. Furthermore I have a CELTA degree from Stafford House, which I received in 2020 and have been teaching both online and in person since. I worked as the head of the speaking skills department at EV Academy, teaching students from Vietnam online before moving to work at Sidmouth International School in the teenager and adults departments. I like to focus on skills within English, reading, listening, speaking and writing so as to get the complete package of fluency. At Sidmouth International School I was tasked with assessing students levels and testing them so they could be put into the correctly levelled class for them so as to get the best results for them possible. I have knowledge of IELTS having taught preparation for it at both EV Academy and Sidmouth international school. I enjoy learning about new cultures and chatting to people about their interests, as this creates an environment where people are more comfortable talking in a foreign language. I believe in a very relaxed teaching environment so as not to fluster more shy students, but can control a classroom and a lesson none the less. I have taught myself Japanese and speak some German and French though the latter two are very basic. I focus on PowerPoints and other visual aids as well as videos and news reports for fluency.
