I have a fun but practical approach, designing easy-to-read and understandable slides and graphics. The student's experience is the most crucial aspect of learning, as they will be putting in the work outside the tutoring session. I am able to be empathetic and responsive to students, listening to their difficulties in understanding a topic. I attempt to try and make them visualize the concept in a way which they will personally understand. I intend to inspire students to love biology as I myself do. No student is one and the same, and considering individual differences must be at the forefront of teaching practice. I will implement this with a variety of ways to teach, such as adjusting my methods to help students who are visual, auditory, and practical learners. I have a fun and bubbly personality along with my discipline, and students are guaranteed to listen. I am also a passionate problem-solver when learning about science, and I conduct my own in-depth research to deepen my knowledge.
I will start a lesson with introducing a student to the topic, breaking it down into distinguishable sections, while checking in with the student every step of the way. After each section, I will ask the student to describe their favor piece of content in any way they want. The session will end with a small quiz. I am also open to giving homework if this is appropriate, which will follow the same dynamic and practical approach to teaching that comes naturally to me.
