Ben Branscombe

For my classes we shall first begin with the student recapping the text in which I have assigned the previous lesson (this can be a chapter, article or other suitable text) before we begin together to divulge and discuss the text, going through potential literary theories, literary devices used, context and analysis. There will be breaks in between if the lessons go over an hour before getting right back into the analysis and discussion. Whilst I'll be offering my knowledge to the students, there will also be room for discussion with the students so they can express their ideas and their own theories in which we can work together on. This is to make the classes more interactive, keeping the students engaged and focused and to prevent classes from becoming tedious.
I have a bachelors degree in English literature and theater studies, giving me knowledge of the literary arts. My specialty is on foreign literature, particularly East Asian and Vietnamese though I have studied literature from various other countries and continents such as Africa, Latin America and Middle Eastern. I also currently work as a senior writer for Art DeVivre and I have written articles on literary topics. Literature is one of my biggest passions, therefore I'm dedicated to gifting my own knowledge and understanding to my future students.
I also in my free time study other topics such as history, philosophy, Eastern theology, political theory and sociology, so I can also if needed broach the literature with other subjects if possible and applicable.
