Being an online English teacher, I make it my priority to prepare engaging lessons that incorporate a variety of teaching materials, such as videos, games and quizzes. With my students I feel it’s crucial to establish a consistent routine, using technology effectively to enhance my lessons and communicate efficiently. Building a positive rapport with my students is paramount, as is taking the time to get to know them, and providing constructive feedback.

I have a keen interest in other languages and cultures, having went on numerous student exchanges to France and Belgium. On these exchanges, I gained experience helping non-native English speakers of all skill levels and ages. I achieved top grades in English and French in my Irish leaving certificate (end of secondary school exams), hold a grade 6 in speech and drama, and have won numerous English poetry and prose reading competitions.

My approach to both learning and teaching a language is to separate it into its four components: how the language is read, written, spoken (oral) and heard (aural). In my experience I have found this to be an incredibly effective method, allowing strengths and weaknesses to be easily identified and improved upon. However, my lessons are also highly dynamic and flexible, and can be tailored to the individual. How my students learn most effectively is of the upmost importance, and it is for this reason that a personalised approach will also be taken.
