My lessons are very lively and interactive. I use the Competency-based approach to teach English language, while implementing Bloom's Taxonomy in teaching. I have four years of experience in teaching English language.
My students get upgraded and stirred up to carryout research.
I make use of real life examples, to communicate my lessons and my students practice speaking English during the lessons.
I had some students who had difficulties with reading four letter words. I immediately recognized the root of their difficulty. I started by teaching them the difference between the long and short vowel sounds, and the rules involved in reading words with one, two or more vowels. As soon as they understood these, reading became very easy for them. Their reading, writing, listening and spoken English language skills were greatly improved and that permitted them to easily learn other subjects with ease.
Depending on the needs of my learners, I always begin by testing their previous knowledge (that is, carrying out a diagnostic evaluation), then I introduce the content. If the lesson is on grammar, I have a different technique of presenting its content, from lessons on vocabulary.
I am most fulfilled when there is an upgrade in my learners' English language skills. To ensure this, I carryout assessments during lessons (formative evaluation), and at the end of substantial amount of work covered, I carryout a summative evaluation. All these different forms of evaluation serve as a guide to know exactly the level of comprehension of the learners.
Taking me as your tutor will be a very exciting journey of learning, apprehending and consolidating English language in your day-to-day life.
