I am currently in university studying astrophysics but have had 3 years of experience tutoring and teaching people from ages 8 to 17. I have recently taught one on one lessons where I could tailor each lesson to the student's needs. I mainly use PowerPoints which help as they can be shared with the student and used for further consultation, but for younger children I rely on games and focus on breaking away from the stereotype that "physics and maths are boring".
I am really fond of feedback and like to communicate with the student to understand what they need and allow them to lead with reflecting on what they need help with, getting involved with choosing the subjects they have difficulty in and where my help would be most useful. In addition, I normally set a page of homework in between sessions to evaluate their progress and create a conversation during lessons where we can correct the work together and go through any doubts. However, this of course depends on the student and their needs.
My main aim is to help wherever possible and make maths and physics seem as fun and entertaining to the student as it is to me!
