To be honest, I couldn't even begin to tell you what a 'normal' lesson looks like. I like to tailor my lessons to each individual and their wants and needs from the lessons. First of all, I would have a fun, scalic type warm-up prepared and then move onto a piece where they could learn some new notes and how to adapt their embouchure in order to achieve the right sound. After this, I'd cover a rhythmic piece of music. This would be to get the student used to different rhythms so as to not be scared when they come across them in other pieces as they progress. Each student is unique though and has their own way of learning so I would change the lessons to suit their needs.
I have been playing musical instruments since I was 5 years old. I started on the descant recorder and moved onto the flute 4 years later. The next year, my Godmother offered me a saxophone and I picked it up straight away and really fell in love with it. I started at Music Centre at the age of 7 on the recorder and moved up through the ranks, until I reached the top band and became a member of the Saxophone Quartet at the age of 18. I would love to pass my passion and knowledge that I've learnt over the years to other people and help them to progress like my teachers over the years have done.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Beatrice
