Most importantly lessons need to be fun and engaging. and for students to want to learn rather than making it a chore. I would start by teaching a topic and then for the second half of the lesson I will have the student answering past paper questions and self assessing them as we go along with the mark scheme and examiner notes. I will ensure that I make the class as interactive as possible, so that the student can derive the solutions rather than me giving all the answers. Also it is key that the student doesn't get discouraged if they can’t answer the questions straight away, from my past experience I will show them that even if you don’t understand at first, just by attempting something and getting it wrong, then looking at the answers will help the learning process. With my academic experience, I feel like I am in a very good position to help students reach and unlock their true potential while enjoying every step of the journey! Although I am passionate about teaching all science, I am especially interested in Chemistry and Physics.
