I am a fully qualified teacher in all sciences and maths up to A level. Prior to teaching I lectured physics at Edinburgh and Loughborough universities and worked in high level industry research. When I joined teaching the challenge I enjoyed was helping students achieve their absolute best regardless of the barriers they face. I took my masters in special education working in particular with students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism and ADHD, none of which should be barriers to achieving the highest of grades. I use specialist teaching techniques to tailor my lessons to your way of learning. I use learning by doing (kinesthetic learning) both online and in person. We will often do experiments in my kitchen whether we are online or in person. For online lessons I use a touchscreen laptop and teams, we share a word document so you have an online exercise book for revision. I am also qualified to assess for access arrangements and diagnose dyslexia so if we work together and I think you could benefit from access arrangements, or you are an adult and need support in the workplace through access to work or a university student who needs evidence for additional support I can help with all of that as well.
I have taught in universities, secondary schools with sixth forms and all through schools from year 3 to year 13. I have tutored at all levels working with adults on functional skills maths and English as well as students of all ages for GCSE maths, all sciences, A Level Maths, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. I absolutely love my job, it's the best thing in the world to show students how far they can go, how well they can do and how much they actually do understand!
