Depending on the time of year I'll either be using the students school curriculum to determine what they should be learning or whether they should be doing past papers to practice for exams. When following the curriculum I'll start by asking the student what they do know and what they haven't covered yet. Once I have heard that I will go over what should be their next lesson at school using both textbooks as well as presenting to them how to solve that problem by sharing my screen. After we've covered the general understandings of that lesson I will ask the students to cover text book example questions so they can apply what they learned. During this i will be writing up a test ready for them to do near the end of the lesson or next lesson if timing is short. While this is happening I will always be checking to see how they are getting on with the task incase they need help or need me to go over it again with them. Once this has finished I'll cover the next part of the lesson and simarly give a few example questions for them to try. Once they have finished with those I will then give them their tailored tests that I have been working on through the lesson. In this way they recieve fair challenges that will still push them but won't spring anything unknown onto them, which most teachers tend to do. I take these results to then start creating my next lesson so that it is tailored even further to better their strengths and support their weaker areas.
