Hello, my online lessons are engaging and I like to build a child's confidence.
In a class of 30 in school, many children are too afraid to ask if they are stuck. They do not want to appear to be struggling in front of their peers.
I build a positive relationship so that children feel at ease and able to ask if they are stuck.

In a class of 30, in school, there can be many challenges which can often slow down the progress that your child needs to make in order to succeed. Stressed teachers, high staff absence, pupil-child ratio and behaviour can all lead to slower progress.

The environment I like to create is one where children can ask if they do not understand and I also celebrate successes.

As an experienced teacher, I am able to see a child's starting point and can work on their next steps.
For the lessons, I breakdown difficult concepts so that they can be easily understood and, most importantly, remembered. This helps to tackle tricky questions with more confidence.

With my level of experience, I can spot many of the pitfalls eg questions which children find difficult and can help to address those quickly. This helps them grow in confidence and helps them to apply their knowledge to trickier questions.

More challenging topics including Fractions& Decimals, Percentages and Multi-step word problems (Reasoning) are regularly covered so that children are exposed to range of different questions to help build confidence and skill. We start at a steady pace and then progress through a range of questions which involve a lot of problem solving where number skills have to be applied. With regular practise, your child will soon feel confident to tackle many areas of Maths which they may have struggled with earlier. My joy comes from children's light-bulb moments and even after many years, I still love this part of my job!
As an exam marker, in Key Stage 2 Reading and Writing, I can prepare children for tests with relevant content. All of my parents have been so pleased with my work and this is why I am now offering it online for others, who live further afield.
