I am a 1st year Medical Student at the University of Buckingham, with a 6 in IB Biology at Higher Level, and a 5 in IB Chemistry at Higher Level.
I try to aim my teaching methods as a means of trying to answer doubts and answer questions. I can teach concepts as a whole, however having some form of prior notice to this would help.
If I am informed in advance, I would gladly set up visual explanations through drawings and Powerpoint presentations, and would find resources on the internet that can help clear any further doubts, as our session together may be limited.
I like to approach studying Biology and Chemistry by relating the concepts that we cover to relatable things that we experience and see in our day-to-day lives. I would like to say that I am always ready to answer questions, and I do expect that students be prepared to ask whenever they feel comfortable.
I would say, whilst I am applying as a Biology tutor, I am happy to teach some chemistry concepts from the IB and GCSE Chemistry curriculum. I wouldn't be the best, however - again - if I could be notified in advance regarding your doubts, I am happy to revise and explain my understanding.
I should add, I am much more confident and proficient in teaching human biology - this includes genetics, body systems, etc., as opposed to plant biology. However, I am always ready to go over doubts and revise to help.
Also, if you are looking at joining medical school yourself, I would delighted to link what you learn in high school to some of the content we see in medical school ourselves, so you can get to know what the content in kind of like. I am also happy to chat about med school as a whole, after helping you with your studies of course.
I look forward to being your tutor. I am sure I will learn just as much from you, as you may learn from me.
