Hello! My name is Axel and I am a music tutor and film composer. My training is in both classical and jazz music theory from Berklee College of Music and The University of Florida. I am currently in the Boston Symphony Chorus, and am currently working with two Grammy award winning artists, Jose Valentino Ruiz and Esin Aydingöz assisting them in the film music world. As a tutor, I have extensive experience from both of my past institutions as a paid tutor, particularly at Berklee where I was hired by the school to teach the students there. Along with my experience as a music theory tutor, I am also a film music composer and am more than willing to speak on my experiences and help those who are interested in getting started with music for media as well. I am happy to teach new and experienced students ranging from highschool to adulthood who want to improve their musical abilities. In my time as a tutor, I have found that students need to be taught at different speeds starting in different experience levels at all kinds of ages. I am known for slowing things down to ensure understanding rather than speeding through material and ensuring little comprehension of what was taught. I have also learned that tutoring time belongs to the student, and focusing on topics that you find engaging or difficult is where our time is best spent. Overall, our sessions are a very relaxed time and they are there for you! Music is supposed to be fun not stressful, and I can’t wait to show you!
