Aurora Smith

Currently in my second year of A-levels, I study both Mathematics and English Literature, with a predicted A * in both. I also achieved a grade 9 in both GCSE English Language and English Literature, and a grade 8 in GCSE mathematics. I have prior experience tutoring GCSE students through my college; a venture which allowed me to realise my passion for teaching and desire to help students wrap their heads around tricky concepts.

My goal is to help you pass your exams with flying colours, which I aim to achieve by providing personalised lessons catered specifically to you. In my lessons I will focus more on exam technique than content, specifically in English.

In my English sessions, will go through past papers and model answers and I will help you unlock your full potential so that you can walk into your exams feeling confident about their layout and how to answer each question. I will also go through the AO’s of English Literature, focusing on language techniques, how to analyse quotes, where to slot in critics, and so on.

In maths, I will focus more on content, revising year 1 pure content for A-level maths students, as well as GCSE and Secondary school content, providing you with an easier alternative way of viewing certain problems. Having previously struggled with maths in Secondary school, I will be able to relate to those of you who also have difficulty with the subject, and pass on certain alternative methods I have adopted to better understand the content and make more sense of it.
