I have experience working for a national tutoring company, where I ran both the specialised 11+ and Secondary School Skills courses. Additionally, I have an A Grade in A-Level English Literature, and a first-class degree in Politics and Sociology.

In accordance, I am highly specialised in both reading texts and writing essays, and can help your child develop the tips and tricks necessary to develop confidence in their English lessons and exams.

As a tutor, I can help your child with targeted reading. This means learning both how to skim read and how to read in-depth, but more importantly, knowing when each of those skills are necessary to apply. I can help in learning to understand and analyse the text through an academic lens.

Additionally, I can also aid in learning how to structure academic writing. Analysing a question, and using important reading skills to develop a unique approach to answering. This means structuring the essay on a macro level, but with more immediate importance, learning how to integrate text-analysis as well-formed paragraphs, and even looking as specifically as the sentence.

As a tutor, I can aid students with academically recognised essay writing, utilising PEE, PEEL or PETAC paragraphs. However, I can also help students come from a different angle and cultivate a genuine interest in their reading, whether novels or poetry, and form the kind of answers that truly impress exam markers.
