I am a graduate of Urban and Regional Planning that wishes to teach English alongside her part time job. I was born and raised in Cambridge, my father gave me a passion for reading that led to a deeper interest for the English language once I had the chance to study sociolinguistics. I understand the importance of knowing a language for a given purpose (academic, formal, colloquial) - I believe that is the way to start because the sooner you begin using what you learn, the more you can reap the rewards and motivate yourself to continue learning. Since I was born I have been speaking Colombian Spanish with my mother and extended family. Being alongside my mother as she learnt English and witnessing the linguistic misunderstandings among family gave ma a strong perception of English as a foreign language. I learnt French, Italian, and Arabic in different forms throughout the years and I grasped an understanding of the linguistic differences between these languages.
