With 11 years experience gigging, I take a more practical approach to teaching! Song learning, studying different bass players, always relating theory back to the music you love to listen to; this is what’s it’s all about.
I believe music is a very personal thing, and so I will be focusing on helping you develop your own voice and your own take on bass playing.

I believe music is a very personal thing, and so I will be focusing on helping you develop your own voice and your own take on bass playing.
Name me your favourite players, your favourite songs, your favourite genres - tell me what you want from music and we can develop achievable goals from there.
After an initial assessment of where you’re at, what you know in terms of music theory and what your music taste is like, I can help construct a personalised lesson plan that can act as a guide for our lessons. But I love spontaneity! I will be flexible and more than happy to help you learning any songs that excite you at this moment in time, and incorporate what we’ve learnt this far into the session to show you how far we’ve come.
Most importantly, music should be fun! Too often is it a source of stress when in fact, learning to play music can be one of the most freeing things someone can do. So I prefer a laid back atmosphere, spurred on by a passion for improving! I’m not going to be throwing cymbals or bass amps at your head (if you’ve not watched Whiplash, good film, bad music teacher). Can’t wait to make your acquaintance!
