I ran a chemistry clinic for a year at my school, helping GCSE and below students with their work and any topics they struggled on.
I have now completed my Alevels, and received an A* in Business, A in Economics and A in Chemistry.
I taught by letting the student choose the topics to work on, and then trying to answer their questions by completing example questions as I found that the best way for them to learn was by doing, and seeing how to apply their knowledge instead of just being told what to do with what they know.
As well as this being a better method to teach by, I found it helped those students remember that content much more than by just having them copy out what I said. I would love to get back into tutoring, especially English as I love to read and by helping younger students with their English skills, hopefully it will incentivise them into also getting into reading!
