Being a teaching assistant with a focus on mathematics has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with both students and teachers, supporting lessons and helping to create an engaging learning environment. My role involved preparing lesson materials, assisting with marking, and ensuring students understood challenging concepts through one-on-one and group support. I particularly enjoyed helping students build confidence in their math abilities, watching them move from frustration to understanding. Collaborating with teachers also taught me valuable skills in classroom management, organization, and adapting to different learning styles. Through this role, I’ve not only deepened my knowledge of mathematics but also developed strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills. It’s an experience I’m passionate about sharing, as it has given me a deeper appreciation for the impact teaching can have on students’ lives.
