Hello!
If you've lost all interest in studying and have no motivation left, you're at the right place. I graduated from A-levels only 3-years ago, which means we belong to the same generation! I agree that the old ways of memorizing formulas and just senselessly getting to the right answer is not our thing. Hence, I like to connect with my students and and get into details of the concepts and encourage the students to think and reason with their answers.
I prefer employing customized schedules and patters for each student, depending on the level of existing subject knowledge. Normally, I start by introducing the most basic chapters, and spend quite some time on the first few ones so that the foundation is strong and students feel like getting a grip on the subject. I then move on to the topical past paper practice for the O-level, IGCSE and A-level students, but for the secondary level and SAT students, I provide other practice resources.
I believe that online education must be done in a proper way. My tool is often S-Notes on a 12-inch tablet, or One Note on a touchscreen laptop, where I connect the meeting on Zoom and share the screen of my writing pad/app with the student. One to one tutoring has been the most effective in my experience.
Disclaimer: I'M HERE TO GET RESULTS! So, I prefer to spend at least 10-12 hours a month tutoring each of my student.
Happy Learning!
