I am confident in supporting a range of students and subjects across the colleges online and within The School of Supported Learning. I have good organisational skills and understand the work needed for this job role within the college proposed curriculum. I have been specifically asked to cover different groups of varying abilities at short notice. I have taken on extra responsibility such as supporting learners with challenging and behavioural difficulties, including 1-1. I have worked on a number of different projects where there has been a regular need to find practical solutions to often complex issues. I have come to acknowledge that the inclusive classroom is critical to the learning process especially when dealing with learners with physical and intellectual challenges.
I am aware of the importance of equality of opportunities for the students and colleagues and have always strived to ensure that students’ needs are met in every possible way to maximise their future success. I work with learners with EHCP plan’s and have collaboratively managed and run a weekly enrichment session. I am currently working with my tutor supporting remote learning online to students with a range of needs and abilities. I have built strong relationships with all staff, support workers, 1-1’s and students that I work with. I have been involved in managing a budget for materials and resources needed for staff and training. I have worked with Speech and Language, social workers other external agencies to support learners with completing their course successfully. I have worked with the safeguarding team in accordance to policy and procedure in college; having the knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity issues and legalisation in education.
Making sure that learners develop their learning to learn skills needed for their course; agreeing on realistic actions plans which focus on goals and achieving them, e.g. Time Management. Differentiating lesson planning for all levels of students. Monitoring learners and making sure they are uploading assignments in accordance with their assessment deadline. Following- up on learners that have outstanding submissions. I will be working with academic staff to ensure support strategies are implemented to support the learner. Doing the groups individual learning plan and identifying their targets. Monitoring the student’s attendance and action in accordance with the attendance intervention policy. For example, all learners should be working towards the college target.
