Many of us may think that the native English speakers are more likely to score higher than a foreigner. This is not true! Also, most native speakers are not a very skilled or eloquent user of their language. IELTS and TOEFL tests are either targeted for students, professionals as well as immigration applicants to measure their level of competence. While an IELTS score of 6.5 is accepted by most academic institutions and a TOEFL score over 90 or 580 based on the type of test is taken is also regarded as a good score - these are very easy to achieve for people who had an English subject during their schooling. Many students fear these tests not knowing their potential, and that with a little help and advise and the right level of practice the targeted score can be achieved.
having a significant experience is teaching Computing, English, Math and so on I can actually tailor the need of support most intimately for my students. Some may need just a few basic classes and I can offer them the materials and support so they can practice and succeed on their own. Some may need a few more classes just so they find that they no longer fear English, but are able to conquer it.
I have my passion for my students particularly those who really are barred from achieving their goals because of these English proficiency tests. I am happy to offer one free first trial lesson for an hour that helps me assess my students and gives them an understanding of my capacity.
