I have great experience with the SQA national qualification courses from both my time at school and through being a tutor. I sat my exams at Hamilton College where I achieved 9 A's at National 5 and 5 A's at Higher from first sittings including N5
Mathematics, N5 Applications of
Mathematics and Higher Mathematics all at an A band 1 level. During my time at school, I also received two silver awards from the UK Mathematics trust, furthermore I recently achieved an A in Mathematics after my first year University exam. I have been tutoring students for over a year now both privately and as a mentor at MagiKats tuition centre where I learned many techniques to find the best way for each individual student to grasp the concepts I teach. In addition, I hold full enhanced DBS clearance and a certificate of child protection in education and safeguarding awarded by TES develop.

I understand the pressures and expectations exams place on students and this is always at the forefront of my mind when delivering lessons. I work closely with the SA course specifications along with my own personal experience to create notes for students to revise from. These notes consist of detailed explanations of each topic along with key equations and definitions for easy reference in the future. Each topic has a hand-full of written examples for students to fill out during the lessons and many extension questions which can be tackled if further practice is needed. Homework questions are given out most weeks but can be subject to existing commitments, tests and schoolwork. This allows students to consolidate their learning in their own time and highlight key areas of confusion. Moreover, I formulate S3 level exam papers to introduce the structure of exams as early as possible which mimic the style of the SA and cover various topics at once. This ensures students are properly prepared for the content of exams and class tests but also the setting and time constraints in order to minimise stress and boost their confidence. I charge £25 per hour and my lessons are carried out online via Zoom weekly. All completed notes and homework questions are sent directly to students for their reference and to ensure they have all the resources they need to do well.
