I have had 10 years’ experience of teaching; of which I have spent the last 7 years years teaching combined and separate science for AQA examination board. Over the years of teaching, I have garnered a wealth of knowledge and strategies that has enabled me to deliver well structured, engaging and exciting lessons to my pupils. Additionally, I have recently completed a Master Teacher Program offered by the National College of Education and the University of Buckingham. This is a bespoke course which is made up of leadership theory, practical work-based learning in managing people and projects and self-study through education related research. During this course, I have been coaching and mentoring members of the science team who are presently teaching at KS3 and getting ready to begin their journey towards Qualified Teacher Status. To add to this, the data from my self-study research on practical work and assessment has been used to inform teaching and learning strategies in the Science department. I have also had the opportunity to work closely with the head of science to reshape the Chemistry Schemes of Work at KS3 and KS4 to a vibrant, inclusive and challenging workload for our students.
