I begin with asking students what they already know and struggle with on said topic.
I then go over theory and some tips/tricks to remember it.
We will then work through a few questions together before the student is given work to do independently.
Towards the end of the lesson I like constructing time pressure exercises/games which stimulate recall of the theory.

Then I set some extra exercises of varying difficulty for the student to complete before the next session. We then go through the answers before commencing the next session.
I find that my style of teaching works as it makes for a more relaxed relationship between the student and I. Building a good relationship allows for better teaching and gives me greater insight into what the students strengths and weaknesses are, and how we can work around them to improve to the greatest extent.
