I usually teach what materials are given to me by the school. I also create some of my own materials like skits of narratives even some outside reading material and sometimes video's in the target language Like journey to the west, Mulan and others. I usually teach what materials are given to me by the school. I also create some of my own materials like skits of narratives even some outside reading material and sometimes video's in the target language Like journey to the west, Mulan and others. Some of the videos introduce Chinese culture. Some of the Videos explain Chinese myths. I will first read aloud and let the students listen to me the first time around then second time read along with me and we will do it at third time. If the student needs to read along with me one more time then we will. Then I will let the students who think they are ready to read it themselves without the teachers help. If there is something wrong with the pronunciation then we will focus on that. If the student is struggleing with reading comprehension then we will do more reading exercises , Listening more audio's. I tend to focus on the students weakness. The strengths should also be valued but that does not mean I should be over looked. If it were a group class, I would pair same level students together, then I would students who are good in certain felids with Students who are lacking in certain fields and those students can help each other out in the fields they are weak in and bolster the fields they are strong in. Also roleplaying helps the students get in touch with their creative side how would they react if they were in this situation, what would be their course of action.
