My approach would always encourage students to truly understand the concepts and not just remember it, even if it requires to stretch beyond the syllabus so be it, the concept is ultimately what acts as the fundamental for any field one expects to pursue. It would be my responsibility to understand the pace and level of understanding of a student to perfectly cater to each individual.

With the one on one session you would get access to the detailed notes on the topic, walk throughs for several questions and a set of questions catered towards your problems.

Ultimately, self studying and sitting down with your problems on your own trying your best to solve is the best way to learn, us as tutors can only guide you at times when its extremely difficult to cope or comprehend, we can only make the content more palatable and easier to understand, otherwise the main hustle is to be done by students in their own accord to learn the topics in the most effective way.
