A typical lesson with me typically begins with a warm-up activity to engage students and activate their prior knowledge. This might include a quick review of previously learned concepts through interactive games or mental math exercises. Following the warm-up, I will introduce the new topic, explaining it clearly and using visual aids, such as charts, diagrams, or interactive whiteboards, to enhance understanding.
I also model the concept through example problems, demonstrating step-by-step solutions while encouraging student participation. Then, students move on to independent practice, working on worksheets or problems individually to reinforce their understanding.
The lesson concludes with a plenary session, where we discuss the day's learning. Students might share their solutions, explain their thinking, and reflect on what they found challenging or enjoyable. This session helps consolidate their knowledge and gives me an opportunity to assess their understanding. Homework may be assigned to further practice the skills learned.
