I support students and prepare them for History exams for the past 20 years, either as school teacher or one to one tutor. I use a combination of presentations, short videos and a variety of sources to help students understand the causes and consequences of historical events. Through questions, discussions and links to the present sociopolitical developments, the students are quite quickly able to analyze and evaluate key historical developments. At the same time, I fully appreciate that the main concern is to succeed in demanding exams, Therefore, I put much emphasis on improving the writing skills of the students, by using past and own papers, by discussing sample answers, and by much practicing during which the student develops phrase by phrase, and paragraph by paragraph short answers and long essays.
