I begin each lesson with a check-in and warm-up activity and only go at a pace and level that is right for the student. My aim is to create a calming and enjoyable environment and ensure that the student is getting the most out of the lesson.

I like to work with the student's interests and create a more current and relatable lesson as well as using traditional methods and history of art, with some fun art games thrown in! I am an experienced artist and illustrator, still working in the field as well as a past art student and tutor, so I have the ability to understand all areas of the art world.

I like to make art fun and interesting and also to demonstrate how therapeutic and calming it can be as well as educational. I have a great passion for art and love to ignite the same passion in future artists.

I have years of experience working in schools and charities with children and young people with SEN and SEMH, giving me a calming and understanding approach to my lessons. I also have ADHD and have always used art as an effective tool for emotional regulation and therapeutic effects, as well as a way to strengthen my natural skills and interest in art. I see the importance in creating a calming atmosphere and safe learning environment to aid learning.

I hope to help your child or young person to achieve great potential and help them to enjoy the arts as well as supporting their journey as possible future artists!
