I have worked with small groups of Undergraduate Psychology Students since finishing my degree two years ago. We generally start our lessons with an introduction of the topics they find difficult, from there I aim to tailor the structure of the lessons to suit each individual student as I understand people learn in vastly different ways. I employ small quizzes and sample questions collected from exams to ensure that students are making progress and to make sure they are aware, and proud, of the progress they make.
I have additionally carried out one on one classes with Undergraduate students to improve on essay writing skills. Academic writing can prove quite difficult when it is a new experience. I work closely with the student to understand their strengths and vulnerabilities and together we can work on a fool-proof formula for writing essays in Psychology. I have many sample essays that can be used as templates to learn from.
Statistics have proven to be a rather intimidating topic for many Psychology students. I am highly proficient in IMB SPSS and have recently completed a course in Advanced Quantitative Data Analysis. As someone who struggled with statistics greatly in my degree, I believe I have a very patient and hands-on approach when it comes to teaching and explaining the topic. I believe in demystifying statistics and showing students that although it may be daunting, it is an invaluable skill that will undoubtedly elevate their understanding of Psychology as a whole!
I have a genuine love and passion for Psychology, I take an extremely enthusiastic approach to teaching. I am unconditionally accepting of students, patient, and excited to help others find love and understanding for the discipline.
