About me
I like to tailor my lesson plans to each individual student based on their needs and learning style. Going through students' completed mock exams, getting them to try past paper questions and just a general first conversation are all great ways for me to assess what topics to focus on and what teaching approaches to try.

For the best results, I find it most useful to follow the specification set...
I like to tailor my lesson plans to each individual student based on their needs and learning style. Going through students' completed mock exams, getting them to try past paper questions and just a general first conversation are all great ways for me to assess what topics to focus on and what teaching approaches to try.

For the best results, I find it most useful to follow the specification set by the exam board and I strongly encourage students to refer to this whilst revising for a comprehensive overview of the exact content they should know and understand.

A typical structure for a lesson will normally include:
1. Refreshing any skills learned in the previous session e.g. using an example exam question, quick fire starter questions etc
2. Beginning a new topic by checking the student's current understanding of the topic using verbal communication and/or relevant questions from completed mock exams
3. Improving the student's understanding of the topic using a variety of different methods - this could include verbal explanation, reading of different sources, written examples, diagram/graphical aids or a combination of these techniques, dependent on student's learning style
4. A final checking of the student's understanding of the new topic covered in order to consolidate their learning and to apply any new skills to an exam context
