I have had the pleasure of tutoring students for 4 years between the ages of 5-18 with a wide range of confidence levels and understanding, which demonstrates my ability to adapt to different students depending on their needs.
Through the use of a whiteboard, I am able to help students visualise concepts and principles easier, such as the approach to certain maths questions or different theories in economics. This has been incredibly useful to students, who are able to simplify the facets of a problem or concept to help their understanding. It also helps us analyse exam techniques used in both Maths and Economics too, as content is only half of the battle nowadays - GCSE and A Level exams have specific techniques that need to applied, and through a whiteboard I can highlight elements that we need to focus on in order to achieve maximum marks.
I also have also been able to deliver accurate and extensive feedback to parents and guardians, as I believe it is incredibly important for progress and tutoring plans to be shared between both parties to ensure the student is maximising their time in our lessons. This transparency is beneficial for both the student and I, as it allows me to specifically target areas of weakness for students, be that in algebra, geometry or statistics. On top of this I have also set consolidation work for students to do outside of my time with them, ensuring that consistent progress is made every time we have a session.
