I am a Maths tutor with 4+ years experience tutoring students both offline and in-centre. I like to structure lessons based on the needs of the student, the general template being a 5-minute warmup exercise based on methods learnt in the last lesson, a 45-minute lesson on a new method along with practice problems, and a 10-minute short quiz or recap. I like to create a comfortable, safe and inclusive learning atmosphere based on positive reinforcement and a warm, friendly relationship with my students. I received an A*A*A equivalent grade in my A-levels, along with a 97% score in my A-level equivalent Maths exam. I have special training as well as experience in tutoring SEN students. I like to use visual aids, practice problems and new, innovative learning methods to make learning Maths easier. As a student, I pride myself on the ability to look behind the curtain and develop learning methods that are relevant for current students. I truly believe that Maths doesn't have to be overwhelming or difficult if learnt in digestible amounts and supplemented by practice. I like to use methods like scaffolding to make sure students don't rely on tutors for their answers, but gradually develop the ability to solve problems by themselves independently. As a member of a tutoring agency as well as a private tutor, I have worked with 70+ students of different backgrounds, education levels and academic needs over the last couple years. I really enjoy working with all students, and engaging them in their learning.
