I like to provide an interactive learning experience in a safe environment where students can be heard and understood. I also believe in attempting questions first before receiving any major assistance as it promotes critical thinking and problem solving as opposed to being told what to do.

Most of my students are studying for exams, so before my lessons I have my students send me a list of the topics they would like help with, and also I ask them if they have access to question sheets or past papers and their respective answer sheets. If they do not, I will supply them with the best questions I can find. The reason I ask for the topics and questions before the lesson is so I can brush up on any specific and attempt the questions before hand to be more time efficient.

The lesson itself begins with the student hopefully having already attempted at least a few of the questions, only to save time. Then the student and I would go through and compare each other's answers with themselves and the answer sheet, if available. In my experience, this is the best method of finding exactly where the student could use some help. After comparing, if there is any confusion with the answer I work with the student to help them come to the same conclusion as the answer, I will not just lecture. Once we have gone through as much as we can, the lesson ends with study and practice recommendations from me as well as more time to ask any question if need be.
