I teach up to GCSE level in all sciences, and would also be able to provide help for KS3 catching up or GCSE preparation, and would also be able to help with preparation for 11+ exams. I have previously done some tutoring for primary school students as well and am happy teaching anyone between the ages of 8 and 16.
I like to use a lot of dual coding which is one of the most effective ways of learning, especially for ADHD/Dyslexic/other SEND students and scaffolding, which means I will gradually take away support in order to build independent and critically thinking learners.
Generally, lessons will have some recap about what we have done previously to check for understanding, followed by an introduction to the new content and then we will start to work through exam questions and make sure that everything is properly understood. For those of you preparing for national exams, plenty of exam practice will be included and I will make sure to provide effective feedback to ensure you are improving on your answers every time, with the hope of you gaining those higher marks.
