Hi, I’m Annie! I’m a qualified teacher and experienced tutor for GCSE English.

English is not just something you study at school, but something that will serve you for the rest of your life. I want to help you enjoy English, which will help you to achieve your goals.

For me, tutoring is about treating a student as a whole person; identifying what your personal targets are, as well as your challenges, is an important first step. Are you looking to just pass your exams? Do you want to feel more confident in lessons? Or are you aiming for a 9 at GCSE?

Once we've identified your targets, we can make sure the basics are in place before starting to challenge you at your own pace. Every person’s needs are individual, and so are my lesson plans. I take a flexible approach to tutoring and will only set homework if you feel able to fit it into your schedule.

I recently left the classroom after teaching in grammar, comprehensive, and SEND settings. I especially loved being able to work 1-1 with students who really needed my help. Before working as a teacher, I achieved First Class Honours in English and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway. With years of tutoring experience, from GCSE to university level, I enjoy passing on my love for my subject and seeing people succeed.

Currently I specialise in GCSE English and the AQA or Edexcel exam boards, but I am happy to support KS3 English too.
