My lessons, first and foremost will be engaging. I aim for you as the student to get the best experience possible!
I have varied experience of teaching as follows:
I have worked as an associate lecturer of Public Health. This involved in- person delivery of classes, preparing and adapting appropriate undergraduate lecture material to ensure students understood the content; explaining complex undergraduate lecture material to students, in several ways, to accommodate a variety of learning styles; enabling undergraduate and postgraduate students within their studies by providing effective and constructive feedback on their written work.
I have also previously worked as an anti-bullying trainer at The Diana Award charity. This entailed direct engagement, both online and in-person, with primary school aged and secondary school aged young people, and their teachers, to run anti-bullying workshops within the school’s environment. Part of this role involved the creation of age-appropriate training material, which was both informative, educational, engaging, and fun. I have significant experience in the delivery of training sessions via Teams and Zoom, having undertaken most of this work during the pandemic,
On an informal basis, I assist young, who are the children of family friends, to develop their career goals. This has included providing support with college and university applications and personal statements, providing guidance in academic writing for university and assisting with the structure and content of their curriculum vitaes.
I have recently mentored young girls of high school age for The Girls Network. This included one to one mentoring to help girls' achieve their career goals.
I am a mum to two sons who I am proud to say have both studied at university and hold degrees. During this time I supported them with their studies!
