I am passionate about maths and dedicated to helping students succeed. I use a variety of strategies to help students understand and memorise key content, including visual aids, practice problems, and real-world examples in order to help them find a better understanding of their work. Whether you are struggling with basic concepts or need help preparing for GCSEs, I can provide the guidance and support you need.

I achieved a Grade 9 in both Maths and Statistics at GCSE as well as got full marks in maths for SATs and I am currently studying Maths and Further Maths at A-level.

With a year of math tutoring experience, I have developed the skills to help students of different levels and abilities. As a lifeguard, I have also undergone a DBS check, ensuring that I am safe and qualified to work with students of all ages.

Tutoring sessions can vary greatly depending on the strategies I employ, as well as the course content being taught and the learning style of the student. Here are some examples of how tutoring sessions might go with different strategies:

Lecture-style tutoring: In this approach, I would spend the majority of the session lecturing on the course content, providing examples and explanations for the student to follow along with. The student can take notes and ask questions, though I will most likely be writing down the key content they need to know. This approach may be helpful for students who are auditory learners and benefit from hearing information presented in a structured format.

Discussion-based tutoring: With this approach, I would engage the student in a conversation about the course content, asking questions and encouraging the student to share their own thoughts and ideas. The tutor might present hypothetical scenarios or case studies to help the student apply the concepts they are learning to real-world situations. This approach may be helpful for students who benefit from active engagement with the material and prefer a more collaborative learning environment. This would most likely occur when the student has a good grasp of the subject and would like to take it further.

Practice-focused tutoring: This approach involves me creating and administering practice problems for the student to work through. I would provide guidance and feedback as the student works through the problems, identifying areas of weakness and providing additional explanations or examples as needed. This approach may be helpful for students who learn best through hands-on practice and benefit from immediate feedback on their work. This will happen as we work through areas of weakness.

All together this creates a hybrid tutoring style which I will tailor their approach based on the specific needs and learning style of the student. This approach may be helpful for students who benefit from a variety of learning activities and ensures a more personalized approach to tutoring.
I will adapt my approach as needed based on the student's progress and feedback, ensuring that each session is tailored to the student's needs and goals.
