I love teaching almost as much as I love History, and I'm dedicated to helping students of whatever age or ability reach their full potential - from school to university to learning history for fun! Learning should be enjoyable, rewarding, and stimulating; I aim to make my sessions meet these criteria.
I have loved history for as long as I can remember, so it seemed natural to go to university to study the subject. I was lucky enough to go to the University of Cambridge and learn from some remarkable and interesting people who inspired me to go on and undertake two graduate degrees. Since then, I have taught at several universities - including the University of Essex Online, the University of Leicester, and the University of Huddersfield.
When teaching, the first aim is to understand the learning outcomes of the exam or course the student is working towards. Then we'll work together towards developing all the tools needed to meet them. Learning how to argue well, using good supporting evidence, to produce essays and assignments capable of getting a good pass mark. We'll then work on strategies to help with revision and confidence as we advance by planning good work habits, such as concise note-taking, critical reading skills, and good time management.
The aim of all this is to help you push through whatever 'blockage' is keeping you from achieving your best results and to give you the confidence to go on and accomplish whatever academic goals you have. Let's do this together!
