As a qualified Teacher with more than 15 years of experience in primary and secondary schools in Bristol, I am well organised, I plan detailed lessons and monitor the learning of the students with regular assessments. I use different pedagogic approaches and I favour practical learning. Demonstrating new skills and trying new food are at the heart of my teaching.
I focus on what students will retain and use strategies to revisit previous knowledge to build on and use engaging ways to introduce new techniques. In my teaching experience, I particularly enjoy sharing cooking skills and food from different culture specially from the French-speaking world using authentic recipes and ingredients. I also really enjoyed having discussions with my students on aspects of the origin of food and its impact on our health and the planet.
In my educational philosophy, I embrace building positive relationships with my students; I take into consideration their background, needs and difficulties to inform my planning and teaching. I also set high standards and high expectations by communicating clearly the objectives and the outcome of the lesson. In my lessons, I expect all the students to try their hardest and strive for improvements.
