I am Annabel, a postgraduate student at the University of Edinburgh. My major is Digital Sociology. As an international student from China, Mandarin is my mother tongue and I have extensive experience in teaching Chinese as I have obtained a teaching certificate in junior high school language in China.
Apart from teaching Mandarin, the meaning and history of Chinese is much broader and I can discuss the history of China up and down for 5,000 years, the origins and traditions of Chinese culture and writing, and history is also a strong subject for me (full marks in GCE). At the same time, I believe that Mandarin as a language is different from teaching Chinese. We should start with pinyin and pronunciation, develop a learning plan that suits the child's foundation and existing knowledge, and that communicate with a native Mandarin speaker will definitely help him to improve his pronunciation and speaking.
In addition, I have extensive experience as a tutor, having taught more than 10 children of all ages in China, including British children. Some of my students have successfully enrolled in their desired high schools and universities through tuition, and have also succeeded in honing their speaking and writing skills.
My class is not just about old-fashioned, boring lessons, but more about interaction and becoming friends with the children. I like to work with students who are younger than me so that I am always energised,Welcome to Annabel's world, where together we will learn, create and become better people.
