This is my third year teaching at secondary level and have had a full three years experience teaching GCSE Business. Within the three years I also have 2 years experience with Enterprise and Marketing Cambridge National and 1 years experience offering A-Level Applied Business.
Our lessons will flow well by working together. The best way to start is gaining an understanding of the exam board you are studying and your outlook on the subject. From there, we can determine what our area’s for improvement may be and how we can best support this.
A huge focus for my pupils is exam technique. I will always dedicate lessons around this, especially when we are secure in a topic area. It is not just about understanding the topic area, but it crucial to build the skill of applying this knowledge to an exam.
Scenario based questions… another key element! We will focus on the break down of this, taking what information is given to us and being able to apply our wider knowledge to read between the lines. What is the question asking us? How can we make this specific to the scenario? What is the best way to use context in our answer to ensure we are hitting those maximum marks.
Building these exams skills can level your grade up. It is not just about having the knowledge, but the application is just as vital when it comes to sitting those final exams.
